Ebisco Sugar Set to Ignite Lagos: The Warri-Born Maestro Ready to Dominate the Stage

From the streets of Warri to the heart of Lagos, Ebike Jacob Sanzu, better known as Ebisco Sugar, is a name that’s about to set the music scene ablaze! This multi-talented force—award-winning music producer, singer, songwriter, sound engineer, and multi-instrumentalist—has steadily risen from humble beginnings to a powerhouse in the entertainment industry. Now, he’s ready to take Lagos by storm with the highly anticipated Better Days album listening experience on September 19th, live at The Hook.

Growing up in Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Ebisco’s musical journey began in the most organic of ways—as a choir boy in Church of God Mission (CGM), Warri. He didn’t just sing; he dominated every instrument he could get his hands on—drums, piano, bass guitar—and quickly became a music director, nurturing talents and building his skills. His talent was undeniable, and it wasn’t long before he ventured into the national spotlight.

In 2011, Ebisco stormed into the STAR QUEST music competition in Lagos, becoming the bandleader and drummer for BLISS BAND. Although they placed fourth, this was only the beginning for him. He returned to Warri, sharpened his vision, and took on an unpaid role at NO LIMITZ STUDIO for two years. Those years of grinding and learning paid off, turning him into a versatile songwriter, performing artist, music producer, and sound engineer.

By 2015, Ebisco made his way back to Lagos with a fire in his heart and stars in his eyes. Living with his cousin, Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Harrysong, he became much more than a protégé. Serving as PA, drummer, road manager, and backup singer, Ebisco was thrown into the world of high-level music production. He learned the ropes of the business and fine-tuned his craft, emerging as a producer and writer for some of the biggest names in Africa, including Faze, Ice Prince, Erigga, Harrysong, Efe Warriboy, Magnito, Portable, and many others.

But Ebisco Sugar didn’t stop there—he became the secret weapon behind music comedian Kelvinsapp’s classic productions and created the unforgettable soundtracks for Ushbebe’s films (Akpe, Abnormal, and My First Time). His talent crosses genres and borders, making him one of the most versatile and sought-after producers in the industry.

Now, with a trail of hit singles, EPs, albums, and jaw-dropping collaborations with the likes of Hotkeed, Fiokee, Harrysong, Del B, and Graham D, Ebisco is stepping into his next chapter. As he prepares to launch his Better Days album, he’s not just dropping music—he’s ready to make history.

Beyond the music, Ebisco remains grounded in family, heading operations for his younger brothers’ successful ventures, Sanzu Kitchen and Sanzu Shoes/Fittings in Lagos.

So, get ready, Lagos! On September 19th, The Hook is where you need to be, as Ebisco Sugar brings his Better Days album to life. This is more than an album launch; it’s a movement. Don’t miss your chance to witness this Warri-bred talent as he sets the city on fire with his undeniable sound and unmatched energy!
