All roads lead to Obotobo 1 in Burutu Local Government Area of the Delta State, today, where activities marking the 15th coronation anniversary of the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) King Joseph Timiyan JP, get underway.
The agrarian and strategic town is already in a sprightly mood and bursting at its seams with throngs of eminent indigenes of the kingdom who have come to celebrate the highly cerebral marine captain-turned-King.
Since his enthronement, the oil-rich kingdom has witnessed social, economic and infrastructural development with the monarch using his local and international connections to attract development to his kingdom.
The week-long anniversary celebration kicks off today, Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 7 a.m. with a special cultural profession followed by the anniversary celebration by 10am.
Yesterday opens with an interdenominational royal prayer session for the Kingdom, the state of Delta and Nigeria.
On Friday, November 13, some deserving sons and daughters of the kingdom will be honoured by the monarch from 10a.m.
Fifteen years on, the monarch has transformed the hitherto oil-rich kingdom into a strategic tourist and business destination in Ijaw nation. Little wonder his subjects, both young and old, have rolled out the red carpet, and are clashing the cymbals, and popping champagne to celebrate the uncommon achiever.
