Delta PDP crisis worsens as former commissioner resigns from party
The woes suffered in recent times by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state has continued unabated with the latest resignation by CHIEF BOSIN EBIKEME, a former Commissioner in the state and strong stalwart of the Party.
EBIKEME latest resignation was contained in a letter dated June 20 and addressed to his Ward Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Gbaramatu Ward 04, Warri South West Local Government Area of which a copy of the letter was made available to GbaramatuVoice.
The terse letter read in part: “I am writing to intimate you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party with effect from 20th June, 2022. My decision to resign is purely on personal reasons, after due consideration and consultations with my Political family and mentors. I wish to thank the Party for the opportunity given to serve in various capacities.
While the letter was silent on the former Commissioner’s move, information available to GbaramatuVoice in the state reveals that EBIKEME has joined the All Progressive Congress (APC), a major opposition party in the state that currently gives sleepless night to the ruling party.
It would be recalled that PDP in the state have recently been engulfed by crisis, a challenge many believe was a fallout of the recently held party primaries in the state which was characterized by irregularities in favour of the state government proffered candidates.
