DELTA LG POLL: Akpomiemie Declares Intention To Vie For Uvwie Chairmanship Seat

 —I will bring democracy dividends to the doorstep of Uvwie people

EFFURUN – As part of his early preparation for the forthcoming Local Governments elections in Delta state, an aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Napoleon Akpomiemie Iffie, on Wednesday 6th September, 2017, at the party’s secretariat in Effurun, declared his ambition to contest for the Chairmanship position of Uvwie Local Government Council amidst cheers from party leaders and his teeming supporters.

Declaring his intention, Chief Napoleon told the gathering that he was delighted standing before the party faithfuls and supporters that he has great respect and love for.

In his words, “I hereby before you, my respected party leaders and teeming supporters make a formal declaration of my ambition to contest for the position of the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council in the forthcoming local government Council election here in the state.

Continuing, the elated Chairmanship hopeful added, “I strongly believe that as the current Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, coupled with my pedigree as a leader of our great party since 1999, I am well-grounded and well equipped to steer the ship as Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council.

While reeling out his manifesto, he pledged to bring the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of all Uvwie indigenes, especially in the following areas: youth and women empowerment, Security of lives and properties and environmental revolution of Uvwie Local Government Area;

Other areas his administration will also pay disciplined attention to, if given the mandate will include but not limited to; mobilization of investors to Uvwie Local Government Area, Increase the internal generation of the revenue base. And work in a seamless form with His Excellency, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s ‘SMART’ Agenda that is aimed at fast tracking the skill acquisition programmes’.

In words, “I wish to state that with your support for my ambition as Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, it is my utmost desire to serve my people in a such a way that they will get the best of good governance’. This he promised to do if his great party, the PDP will graciously give him the ticket to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming Local Government Council election,” he said. 

Speaking at the event, the People’s Democratic Party Chairman in Uvwie, Hon. Prince Kelly Otuedor accepted Chief Napoleon’s declaration in the party secretariat for the coming local government elections. While commending him for consulting with them, he also admonished him to consider the welfare of the party members as part of his agenda.

Hon. Kelly also advised the supporters of Chief Napoleon to comport themselves in the appropriate manner that will help project their candidate so as not to be seen as paying lip service only but to be dedicated in their hearts as loyal supporters of their candidate.

 It could be recalled that Chief Napoleon Akpomiemie Iffie who is vying for the Executive Chairman’s position is currently the Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council of Delta State.
