SENATOR (DR.) ARTHUR IFEANYI OKOWA,
EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
ASABA, DELTA STATE.
RECOGNISING, RESPECTING AND PROTECTING FREE ELECTORAL PROCESS AND THE LEGITIMATE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE OF DELTA STATE IN THE FORTHCOMING COUNCILLORSHIP AND CHAIRMANSHIP ELECTION.
It is a glaring fact that all the persons who have held the chairmanship position in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State draw their womb from the Itsekiri tribe and this is owed to the imposition of candidates and electoral malpractice by the erstwhile governments of the state.
Pertinently, there is an outright orchestrated plan to impose candidate in the forthcoming councillorship election in Ward 19, Okerenkoko in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, and if this is allowed to triumph, the legitimate interest of the people in that ward will be undermined and will also dent the political image of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
We as a group standing for Political equality and justice call on you, His Excellency, being the chief custodian of the state to immediately address the long time chairmanship imposition and electoral malpractice in chairmanship election in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State. His Excellency, we also immediately ask that you call the Deputy Governor to order so that there will be an impartial electoral process and smooth conduct of councillorship election in Ward 19, Okerenkoko in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
His Excellency Sir, we shall employ all legal mechanisms ranging from mass protest, court action, petition, international influence and a host of others if the above “injustices” are not addressed.
Your Excellency Sir, time is running out.
We tender our usual assured support and co-operation to your government.
Yours Faithfully,
Signed:
John Dekawei (President)
Eric Egenimiekumo (Secretary General)
Ajosibe Justin Bebenimibo (Spokeperson)
