Delta: Egbema communities order NPDC to vacate land in 7-days

By Joshua Williams

Ogbinbiri Federated Comminities in Egbema kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, have issued a seven days ultimatum to the management of Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) to vacate their land or face mass protest.

The communities on behalf of the National Youth President, Ogbinbiri Federated Communities, Chief Ebipade Kari Ebipade said the seven days ultimatum was as a result of the company’s refusal to recognise Ogbinbiri communities and other Egbema communities as host communities in the Gbetiokun oil exploration field.

“We urge the management of NPDC to evacuate their staff and equipments from our land by this notice or face mass action from Ogbinbiri Federated Communities and the host communities.

“We stand for peace and we will continue to promote peace but failure to listen to our voice will result to drastic action from the youths seven days from today.

“We also call on the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas to call NPDC to order to avoid total shutdown from the groupm”.
