…Promises a synergy with the paper in propagating the State Government prosperity agenda
The Deputy Governor of Delta State Barr. (Deacon) Burutu Kingsley Otuaro on Tuesday stormed the Website launch of Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper with commissioners and other political chieftains of the state at Okuemi Hotel, Ugborikoko Bendel Estate, Warri in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deputy governor during the programme charges the newspaper for more professional conduct while maintaining that his office will do all within its powers in ensuring that the tabloid is promoted and given the necessary support to enable the initiator in achieving its set goals.
Barr. Otuaro particularly tasked the Newspaper to support the state government on its prosperity mantra being a promise made during their electioneering campaigns as they are bent on delivering it to all Deltans.
In his goodwill message during the event, Rt. Hon. G. Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal constituency, in the Federal House of representatives remarked that his support for the growth and development of the newspaper would be non negotiable as every part of his body will identify with it.
The commissioner for culture and tourism Delta State Hon. Ernest Okwenze speaking during the launch lauded the initiative of the website which will give it a global outlook while reiterating that in his place as a commissioner he will also support and nurture the vision.
Also reacting to the programme was Engr. Jude Sinebe, commissioner for Higher Education on his part charged everyone to make and see the paper as their personal project while admitting that Niger Deltans have actually suffered while encouraging the emergence of the tabloid which will undoubtedly give our issues a national and international look.
The event also featured the presentation of a brief drama written by Comr. Asiayei Enaibo entitled ” Media and Niger Delta Struggle, the Gbaramatu Voice Experience “. It was a dramatization of the untold negligence meted out on the Niger Delta region by successive Governments while concluding the play with a call on the Federal Government to genuinely address the Niger Delta question to rid the region of militancy and the persistent wanton invasion of its communities.
