By Enaibo Asiayei

Majority leader of the Delta House of Assembly, Tim Kome Owhefere (Esq.) is dead.

Owhefere, a four- time member of the House, died around 11pm on Wednesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, after being hospitalised for about two weeks.

The deceased lawmaker, who represented Isoko North Constituency until his death, hailed from Akiowhe community, in the council area.

While there is yet to be an official statement on his passage, several sources confirmed the sad development on Thursday morning.

But his media aide, Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, posted the development on his Facebook post, drawing several condolence messages.

Owhefere was said to have been on oxygen for a week before his death, fueling speculations that he died of COVID-19.

This suspicion is reportedly causing anxiety among members of the Delta House of Assembly as some colleagues were reported to have visited him at a hospital (name withheld) in Asaba where he was first admitted.
