All is reportedly said to be set as the prosperity governor, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa prepares to storm Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State to present staff of office to the revered monarch of the Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba.
According to the source who disclosed this to Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper Yesterday that would not want his name to be mentioned in print stated that the Delta State Governor will be presenting the staff of office to the Agadagba of Gbaramatu Kingdom on December 2nd 2016.
It was however, learnt that the King to be presented staff of office come December 2nd 2016 at Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the Kingdom hails from the Benikrukru ruling house.
Speaking on the presentation of staff of office, the undisclosed source maintains that the Benikrukru community ruling house selected His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II on the 25th day of February 2016, as the 26th Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom which was latter followed by his subsequent coronation on Tuesday March 15th, 2016 at Oporoza amidst several traditional rites.
It was gathered that the ancient Gbaramatu traditional dynasty is presently having its 26th Monarch of the Kingdom.
Historically, Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper learnt that in the year 2008, late. Pere Godwin K. Bebenimibo, (DSP, RTD) was installed, crowned and enthroned as Ogeh Gbaraun III, Aketekpe (Agadagba) of Gbaramatu Kingdom. He departed to the World beyond in the year 2013 after reigning for five (5) years.
When Ogeh Gbaraun III of Gbaramatu kingdom exited the throne in the year 2013, there was a brief interregnum from 2013 in order to give room for due process in the selection of a new king (Pere). During this period, Chief (Elder) Oyagha Heavens was said to have been selected to rule the Kingdom as regent pending the enthronement of a new king.
The vacant stool since 2013 paved the room for another Pere and Prince Williams Seigha Naira Ogoba, from Benikrukru community ruling house was selected on the 25th of February 2016, as the 26th Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom
It was further revealed that the former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, personally presented the staff of office to the monarch in April 2009 at Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of the ancient Kingdom amidst several dignitaries.
It is crucial to pinpoint at this juncture that as at the moment of filling this report, the Gbaramatu Royal palace nor the state government have issued an official statement on the event.
