COVID-19: Kunukunuma leaders distribute food, relief items to constituents

Leaders of Kunukunuma community in Gbaramatu kingdom yesterday distributed foods and other relief items to the people of the community, to cushion the effects of the lockdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The leaders said the gesture was aimed at reducing the suffering of the teeming Kunukunuma populace as a result of the economic effect of the ravaging coronavirus on individual and nations.

A statement issued by the Chairman of the community, Chief Moses Bebenimibo on behalf of Chief Clark Gbenewei; Mr. Felix Odiki and Chief Samuel Okirika while handing over the food items on Friday to the Amadiwei of the community, Chief Clement Aruwei, at the community’s town hall said the leaders deem it fit to support government effort to alleviate the suffering of the people.

Items distributed by the leaders included: bags of rice, garri, pepper, salt, gallons of groundnut oil and palm oil.
