…Advises subjects to promote Ijaw culture
OPOROZA-His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State has described restructuring as the solution to the plethora of problems facing the country, adding that this can be achieved through implementation of the 2014 National Conference Report.
According to the Pere, restructuring would enable various zones and regions of the nation to judiciously harness their god-given resources, which would invariably guarantee peace, justice and development
In his speech to commemorate first year coronation anniversary, the Pere said the relative peace and high in crude oil production in recent times should not just be celebrated, rather, the government should pay more attention to the numerous problems facing the Niger Delta region.
In his address, Oboro-Gbaraun II said: “May I also inform Mr President that, the ultimate solution to the plethora of problems facing this nation is restructuring of the country, which can be achieved by the implementation of the 2014 National Conference Report.
“It is obvious that the problem of Nigerian is a foundational one and the only solution to such a problem is to work on the foundation, which is basically restructuring of the country. This will enable the various zones and regions to judiciously harness the numerous resources God has blessed the entire nation, which will guarantee peace, justice and development.” Aketekpe stated.
The Pere who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for sending Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the Niger Delta region, in order to engage people of the region on peace and security, also called on the President to fast-track the process by implementing the short and medium term goals, as well as draw up plans to develop the region
While addressing his subjects, His Royal Majesty advised the people of Gbaramatu kingdom and the entire Ijaw nation to continue to hold on the Ijaw tradition and culture by speaking the Ijaw language at all times.
The Pere, prayed God to bless Gbaramutu kingdom and the entire Ijaw nation. He also seized the opportunity to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari for God’s guidance and protection.
