BURUTU-The Umbrella body covering all Youths in Ogulagha Kingdom, under the aegis of Ogulagha Kingdom Youth Council in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have alleged that Beniboye and Isiayegbene communities all in Delta belongs to them.

The youths convey their plights in a press statement jointly signed yesterday by its leadership, Comr. John Bebapere, President; Mr. Oluku Humphrey, secretary and Comr. Abanre Ebikeme, Public Relations Officer respectively.

The group particularly urged SPDC and Hydrodive to go about their normal duties by commencing repairs on the vandalized 48th inch Export line in Forcados Terminal, stressing that there should be no fracas haven’t secured FTO their rightful host, being the Ogulagha Kingdom.

According to them; ” We call on those behind the unfounded claims to desist from such act which has the potential to misinform the reading public and possibly create inter-community animosity in the long run.” It stated.

The statement read in part; “We have been reading from the print and electronic media some baseless and concocted claims contained in several publications/protest by some members of Odimodi community over the ongoing Forcados terminal 48” export line repair works being contracted to Hydrodive Nig. ltd.

“We wish to state unequivocally that, Isiayeigbene and Beniboye communities are owned by the Ogulagha kingdom. Therefore, such protest and publications are aimed at creating public distractions and to seek cheap attention.  We urge SPDC and Hydrodive to go ahead with the planned repair works on the facility without fear so as to commence crude export from the Forcados loading platform without any further delay, having secured FTO from the rightful host, the Ogulagha kingdom.

“The general public should note that, we are not against anybody or group of persons seeking employment or contracts related to the facility mentioned above or any other facilities within the kingdom territory but must do so without claim of ownership.” The youths noted

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that the people of Odimodi Community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have earlier claimed ownership of the said communities leading to protest, demanding to be given their rightful place as host to Hydrodive with particular reference to the repair works in the 48 inch export line at the offshore of Forcados Terminal.
