The Honourable Member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Julius Gbabojor Pondi, on Sunday, at his child’s dedication ceremony, disclosed that he, together with his wife had waited for five years after marriage, for their first fruit of the womb.
Pondi expressed happiness and joy at the dedication of his third son, Master Farrel Tamara-Ibaleimor Pondi at the Church of God Mission (CGM), Ejiyere branch off Ojagbugbe Street, Okumagba Layout in Warri, Delta state on Sunday February 11, 2018.
In his words, “We got wedded here under the supervision of our Daddy, Rev. Dr. O. J. Agbarah, in 2009, which shall be exactly nine years, next month.
“We got married and waited for our first child to come and it took five years.
“However, we had three children within three years.
“So, we are proud and thank the Lord that we have done nothing to merit his grace and protection that we have enjoyed over the years.
“There is no amount of gratitude that we express here, that will be commensurate to the grace we have gained from Him.
“It is on this note that, I want to humbly thank every member of the church, our family members and friends for joining us here.”
Speaking at the dedication, Rev. Dr. O. J. Agbarah, the Presiding leader of the CGM branch, urged members to emulate the faith of Pondi.
He said, “He made a statement, that he has been married for nine years and for five years he had waited on the Lord and in due season, the answer came. When God’s time comes in contact with your season, your answer is sure.”
Also speaking at the occasion, Hon Oghene Emma Ego, representing well-wishers from Amuwo Odofin Constituency in Lagos state, said Pondi is a man of God who continues to worship God, despite five years of marriage without a child.
“Pondi is a very nice man, and I am here to attend the child dedication.
“Pondi is a man of God; a man who got married and for five years waited and kept worshipping God and within three years, got three children. He is coming back to give thanks to God and with that kind of attitude, God will continue to bless him,” he added.
The child dedication ceremony later moved to the Pondi’s private residence at Bendel Estate in Warri, where thousands joined the couple to celebrate with them, on the joyous occasion.
