On Thursday, November 14, representatives from Century Group, one of Africa’s leading energy infrastructure companies, visited GbaramatuVoice, the prominent media organization in the Niger Delta, to express their appreciation for the media house’s efforts in promoting peace and contributing to nation-building in the region.
Under the leadership of Sir Ken Etete, Century Group operates through seven key subsidiaries and is a leading player in both the energy and non-energy sectors. Century Group’s operations encompass a broad range of activities, including Operation and Maintenance of Offshore Production and Storage Facilities, Offshore and Onshore Logistics Support Services, EPCI of Oil and Gas Facilities, Mooring and Installation, Chartering and Management of Offshore Support Vessels, Procurement and Materials Supply, Training and Manpower Development, Bunkering Services, and Tank Farm Operations.
The company’s approach is centered on fostering job creation, driving economic growth, and promoting lasting peace in the Niger Delta, with a workforce that reflects talent from all corners of the country.
The delegation, led by Comrade Peter Ofoghan, along with Engr. James Odume and Mr. Mbonu Godspower, commended GbaramatuVoice for its vital role in raising awareness about the dangers of oil theft and its continuous efforts to combat illegal oil activities in the Niger Delta. The group emphasized the significant impact of the media house in educating the public on this critical issue.
Speaking on behalf of Century Group, Comrade Ofoghan highlighted the company’s dedication to creating value, supporting governmental initiatives, and providing employment opportunities for youths in the Niger Delta.
He also acknowledged the role of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), in harnessing Nigeria’s oil and gas reserves for sustainable national development.
Furthermore, he commended the efforts of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, under the leadership of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, in the ongoing fight against oil theft, stressing the importance of these collaborations in strengthening national security and economic growth.
The Century Group delegation shared insights into the company’s future initiatives, which include creek-child education programs, support for government policies, and the creation of more job opportunities for Nigerian youths. They emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the media and local communities in advancing these goals.
The visit culminated in congratulations to Mr Jacob Abai, CEO/MD of GbaramatuVoice, and his wife on their recent marriage (#BEKERE2024). The delegation also participated in a photo session at GbaramatuVoice’s state-of-the-art studio, marking a continued collaboration between Century Group and GbaramatuVoice.
