“DELTA STATE CHAPTER CONDEMNS in very strong terms the unguarded Statement credited to DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for saying that Udu was house of Criminals and saying that the DPO Ovwian/Aladja, CSP Aliyu Shaaba, was a DPO who fights Criminals to the teeth forgetting that the fight to win the battle against the Criminals in Udu was carried out collaboratively by all stakeholders in Udu and not by the DPO alone.
“Furthermore, his statement that it was Criminals that are now fighting back is most uncharitable and misguided as those calling for the kind interventions of the Honourable Commissioner of Police Delta State Police Command in the instant situation are responsible leaders in the Society and elder states men who have impeccable records of Good Judgements in the face of challenging situations.
“CDHR Delta State calls for a retraction of the statement with apologies to the people of Udu Local Government Area and the Nigeria Citizens resident therein otherwise, we in CDHR Delta State shall withdraw our support and respect from the Delta State Police Command without any further delay.
