The Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide, under the leadership of Comrade Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, has been granted an 18-month tenure extension. This extension allows the current leadership to continue overseeing the youth affairs in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The decision came following an emergency meeting of stakeholders and youth presidents of various communities held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Casa De Pedro Annex along Refinery Road in Warri. It was based on the remarkable achievements of the current leadership during their previous term.
During the meeting, stakeholders stressed the importance of future tenure extensions being based on performance and service excellence, ensuring leadership roles are awarded according to merit and outstanding service contributions.
This tenure extension marks a significant milestone for the GYC and provides an opportunity for the current leadership, whose previous three-year tenure ended on May 29, 2023, to continue serving the youth of Gbaramatu Kingdom until November 2024.
