Members of the Benikrukru United Community have disclosed that what looks like an extensive oil spill occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Benikrukru communities, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The spill, according to them, came off a yet-to-be-properly-identified facility belonging to an oil major operating in their area.
Though the cause of the spill could not be immediately ascertained, they said it was noticed last night.
The incident, they added, happened between Abiteye field.
