The Federal Ministry of Education has approved the dissolution of the Governing Councils of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State and University of Port Harcourt, in Rivers State.
The ministry stated on Thursday that the dissolution, which came from the Office of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, was with immediate effect.
The Director of Information, Mr Ben Goong, said in a release, “The Federal Government has approved the dissolution of the Governing Councils of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State and the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, in Delta State.
“The dissolution of the Governing Councils of the two universities takes immediate effect. The minister thanked the members for their service to the institutions and wished them success in their future endeavours.”
