Ancient Bobougbene Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has appointed Mr. Asiayei Enaibo, a Warri-based journalist and Managing Editor of Gbaramatu Voice, as the chairman of the newly created Bobougbene Development Committee.
The announcement was made during the community’s general meeting held at the community playground on February 1, 2024. The meeting, presided over by the eldest man, Amakosu-owei Pa Asiayei Zaiky, a retired police officer, emphasized the need for Enaibo’s leadership to drive the socio-economic development of the community.
Other members appointed to serve on the Community Development Committee include Mr. Godwin Oyas Waya as Secretary, Mr. Enoch Arukazi as Treasurer, and Mr. Destiny Coleman Polobiri as a member.
In response to his appointment, Enaibo expressed gratitude and pledged dedication to addressing critical development plans and strategies to urbanize Bobougbene community, collaborating with government officials and stakeholders to attract social amenities and promote sustainable development.
Enaibo said, ”I assure you of my willingness to work with the community chairman and executives to address critical development plans and road map to urbanise Bobougbene community, collaborating with other leaders and other well-meaning Ijaw sons to ensure Bobougbene becomes a well-known community and to bring in development that will assist humanity.
“Priority challenges will be addressed in collaboration with top government officials to ensure that social amenities, big or small, are attracted.”
