Benson Idahosa University student wins award as best IT student

A student of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Benin City, has received the “Most Outstanding Intern of the Year” award from GbaramatuVoice, the Niger Delta leading and most trusted newspaper.

Student of Business Studies, Department of Mass Communication, BIU, Mr Joshua Williams received the award as a reporter while on three months placement at the company.

Within this period, Williams played an active role in fielding information on current events in the Niger Delta region and analyzed them.

His beat included crime, government, community, lifestyle, environment, and sundry.

His work did not go unnoticed, and Joshua was awarded the Most Outstanding Intern award by the Publisher/CEO, Jacob Abai at the GbaramatuVoice’s Annual Internship Appreciation Event, where the managers and team members of the newspaper nominate those “who’ve gone above and beyond.”

The GbaramatuVoice Intern of the Year Award was designed to honor an outstanding student who has participated in an internship and exhibited unusual skills and/or made a significant contribution to their employer.
