Bebenimibo, EBF boss speaks on GbaramatuVoice Programme ‘Focus on Niger Delta’
My plan for Niger Delta out of school children- Bebenimibo, EBF Boss
Dcn Ernest Bebenimibo, the Founder of Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) and his Executive Director, Amb Ossai Darlington Ogaga, were today Wednesday September 14, 2022, hosted on the GbaramatuVoice, weekly programme – Focus on Niger Delta.
They spoke extensively on the efforts Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) is making to ensure that children of the poor Niger Deltans are enrolled in school this year.
Focus On Niger Delta, is one of the GbaramatuVoice numerous flagship programmes that provides platform for well informed and quietly influential Niger Deltans/Nigerians who have made their marks on their various field of endeavors, to speak on, and offer roadmap to the divergent challenges confronting the region which ranges from environment pollution and degradation occasioned by crude oil exploration and production in the region to poor infrastructures, poor learning facilities and galloping youth unemployment currently bedeviling the region.
At the programme which was anchored by Enaibo Asiayei, the Managing Editor, Bebenimibo expressed worry over the alarming poor access to learning opportunities to children in the region still within the learning age in Delta state and other states in the region, adding that his foundation is making effort to change the narrative using his pet programme from ‘street to school’
Aside from using the opportunity provided by the programme to highlight on the need to challenge the narratives through programmes #Street2Schools2022 which he says will commence in September, this year, he stressed that he hopes to achieve this objective via provisions of school materials such as exercise books, textbooks, school bags, school uniforms and other materials necessary for learning to these students in Delta State, Bayelsa, Edo, and Ondo state.
He opined that it has become overwhelmingly urgent that well meaning Nigerians and organizations take supportive steps and measure to assist parents towards ensuring that their children and wards do not drop out of school, And therefore, called on the government in the region and other well meaning Deltans to do more towards making access to quality and affordable education to students of the region possible.
