The paramount ruler of Ekeremor community, HRM King Agbodo Gbaseimor, has blessed the aspiration of the member representing Ekeremor Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo to represent the Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the Senate come 2023.
The Ekeremor Community Council of Chiefs led by King Agbodo Gbaseimor received Wilson Ayakpo who is vying under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Bayelsa West Senatorial District, comprising Ekeremor and Sagbama LGAs in his palace.
Ayakpo, who is also the Deputy Minority Leader in the Bayelsa State Assembly has been going round Ekeremor and Sagbama communities consulting critical stakeholders on his senatorial ambition.

Gbaseimor urged politicians who aspire to represent the people to always put the interest of the electorate above their personal interest, saying that representation is all about service to the people.
The king described the political aspiration of Ayakpo as legitimate, insisting that by the zoning arrangement, it is the turn of Ekeremor LGA to produce the next Senator and urged all sons and daughters of Ekeremor and Sagbama LGAs to support Ayakpo to represent the Senatorial District come 2023.
The monarch eulogized the member representing Ekeremor Constituency II in the state Assembly for effectively representing the people, adding the projects and programmes executed by the lawmaker has transformed the living standard of the people of the constituency.
While praying for the aspirant to have a successful outing, King Gbaseimor commended the Senatorial hopeful for recognizing the traditional institution as critical to the development of the rural communities.
Speaking to newsmen at Ekeremor, APC stalwarts, Chief Boss Ayama and Chief Sakwe Emmanuel said Hon. Member has impacted the lives of the women and men and youths through his various empowerment programmes.
They expressed confidence on the ability of Ayakpo to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the Senatorial District if elected based on his track record.
They noted that there is no going back on the zoning arrangement and urged all well meaning political stakeholders from Ekeremor and Sagbama communities to rally round the ambition of Ayakpo whom they described as a man who understands the problems of the people.
Also speaking, a stakeholder, Comrade Godspower Alatubo, also re- echoed the need for the zoning to be strictly adhered to by all sons and daughters from the Senatorial District and called on all to join hands to work for the success of the aspirant.
On his part, Hon. Ayakpo explained that he decided to throw his hat into the ring after the senatorial slot was zoned to Ekeremor LGA, adding that he has what it takes to represent the people and attracted the needed development.
He noted that his experience as a lawmaker and the projects he has attracted are testament of what the people should expect, saying that he would lobby more developmental projects and programmes that will elevate the living standard of the Senatorial district.
