A former militant leader and now paramount ruler of Okochiri Kingdom, Okrika Local Government Area, His Majesty, King Ateke Tom, has denied endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for a second tenure.
In a release made available to newsmen recently, Tom said: “I will not disrespect my throne by endorsing any candidate in the forthcoming general elections but play the role of a royal father to political parties and I have learnt not to betray the trust of my people but to advise them to desist from violence especially during the elections.”
Also reacting to the raid on his palace by security operatives, Tom said it was provocative, intimidating and causing unnecessary panic in the area.
It will be recalled security operatives recently have been stationed in key parts of Rivers State to ensure peaceful elections.
Ateke Tom’s premises were not spared.
Also, Boatloaf recently issued a press release where he stated that the ex-militants were endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for a second tenure due to some given reasons.
