•NDA does not enjoy our support or receive our blessings
•We are partners in development with the FG
The Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) Worldwide has declared that despite the fact that their communities play host to some of the demands made by the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), their youths are neither members nor associate with the members of the group.
GYC stated this recently via a release signed by its President, Comr. Christopher Wuruyai and made available to our correspondent.
According to the group, instead of becoming members of the NDA, we have freely chosen to partner in progress with the Federal Government.
The above claim is evident as our youths are now volunteer workers of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the evidence abound.
Giving details, Comr. Wuruyai pointed out that over one hundred youths have voluntarily enlisted in The Chaplain Corps of Nigeria (TCCN). Again, some well above one hundred are in the Federal Task Force, while a teeming number of our youths is with the Nigeria Civil Defense Corps.
He stressed that the core benefits of these projects as sited may be in Gbaramatu Kingdom but went ahead to make it clear to all that Gbaramatu youths do not intend to achieve any of these key developmental projects through violence of any sort.
GYC, therefore, declared that the NDA do not enjoy their support or their blessings at the renewed threat to commence with the destruction of oil installations.
The Gbaramatu youths further explained that they are aware of the politics that are involved in creating the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko and the Escravos Gas Processing Zone, Ogidigben as well as the Deep Seaport in Gbaramatu.
However we are not ready and do not intend to achieve any of these and other challenges we are faced with through violence, the group added.
They, therefore, advised that the Niger Delta Avengers should learn to toe the part of peace at all times as their activities are always seen by the government as coming from our kingdom.
