APC’s Okpebholo Leads Edo Governorship Election by 48,000 Votes After Collation of 16 LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has taken a commanding lead in the Edo State governorship election, boasting over 48,000 votes ahead of his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

After results from 16 local government areas were declared at the INEC Collation Centre in Benin City on Sunday, Okpebholo, the Senator representing Edo Central, has amassed 244,549 votes, securing victory in 10 LGAs. Meanwhile, Ighodalo trails with 195,954 votes, having won six LGAs. Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata follows in third place with 13,346 votes.
