The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, High Chief Dennis Otuaro, PhD, today hosted the Publisher of GbaramatuVoice International, Jacob Abai, at his office in Abuja. The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions about the development of the Niger Delta, as well as a special personal invitation.

Otuaro welcomed Abai warmly, commending GbaramatuVoice for its ongoing efforts in promoting the region’s culture, addressing key issues, and reporting on developmental progress. The Administrator highlighted the importance of the media in shaping public perceptions and policy, especially in the context of peacebuilding and youth empowerment initiatives led by the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

During the visit, Abai used the occasion to extend a personal invitation to Chief Otuaro for his upcoming wedding in Warri, Delta State. The grand celebration is set to take place on Sunday, October 20, at KFT Place, where Abai will tie the knot in what promises to be a significant cultural event. The Administrator graciously accepted the invitation, expressing his best wishes for the upcoming union.

The discussions also covered various initiatives under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, including efforts to empower former agitators. Otuaro detailed programs focused on skills acquisition, educational opportunities, and economic reintegration, which aim to ensure long-term peace and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

Abai expressed appreciation for the Administrator’s hospitality and ongoing dedication to the region’s development. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the media and government programs to amplify success stories and address the challenges facing the Niger Delta.

“Collaboration between the media and government is essential for driving meaningful change in the Niger Delta,” Abai stated during the meeting.
