Amadinorbou Okun Returns to Sacred Temple of Biniebi in Ogulagha Kingdom

Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State is set to witness a historic spiritual event as Amadinorbou Okun, the revered deity known as the King of the Land and Sea, returns to the Sacred Temple of Biniebi in Biniebi-Ama.

This significant event is scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, and is expected to be a monumental moment for the Ijaw Nation.

In a statement signed by High Chief Kestin Pondi, the Wurutuawei of Biniebi, it was revealed that this divine homecoming fulfills a long-anticipated promise to bless the Ijaw Nation.

High Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, widely recognized as a spiritual leader and advocate of Ijaw spirituality, has been at the forefront of reviving the worship of deities in the region. The return of Amadinorbou Okun, described as the twin flame of the Biniebi deity, marks the fulfillment of a long-anticipated divine promise to bless the Ijaw Nation.

The Sacred Temple of Biniebi, built by High Chief Ekpemupolo in 2011 after extensive consultations with community stakeholders, has been prepared for this divine reunion. The temple, located at the shores of Ogulagha, has served as a hub for spiritual activities and the preservation of Ijaw cultural heritage.

The return of Amadinorbou Okun is described as a divine milestone. It has been attributed to increased spiritual awareness across the Ijaw Nation and the unwavering efforts of High Chief Ekpemupolo to reawaken Ijaw spirituality through initiatives such as the annual pilgrimage to the Ijaw Holy Land at Egbedani, Bayelsa State.

The event will feature traditional ogele dances, prayers, and celebrations in honor of the returning deity. The unveiling of the Amadinorbou Okun masquerade is planned for 2025 during the festival season.

Chief Priest of Biniebi Temple has assured all that preparations are complete to welcome the deity, emphasizing that Amadinorbou Okun’s return signifies blessings and development for the Ijaw Nation. He also cautioned that the deity has issued strict spiritual instructions to ensure reverence during his presence.

As the Ijaw Nation anticipates this divine reunion, the event is expected to reinforce spiritual and cultural unity while advancing the collective aspirations of the region.
