As GbaramatuVoice prepares to mark its 10th anniversary, His Royal Majesty, Pere S. P. Luke, Kalanama VIII, Pere of Akugbene Mein Kingdom and First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, has poured heartfelt praises on the media house, describing it as a “beacon of hope for a generation” and a “household brand built on vision, consistency, and integrity.”

The revered monarch made these remarks on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the management team of GbaramatuVoice, led by its Publisher and Managing Director, Mr. Jacob Abai. The visit was part of preparations for the GbaramatuVoice 10th Anniversary and the 2025 Niger Delta Night of Honor, scheduled for August 27–28 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

“I want to congratulate the man behind the vision, a man who has inspired several of our youth, a bridge builder, and a beacon of hope for a generation,” the monarch began.

“Some media houses sprang up around the same time as GbaramatuVoice, but because of your unwavering consistency and dedication, you have transformed it into a brand, a household name in the Niger Delta.”

The monarch commended the Publisher for not only building a media house, but also nurturing a new generation of media professionals.

“What gladdens my heart most is that at every point in time, I see new faces. That tells me you are grooming the younger generation, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. You’re not just training in media skills, you’re shaping character and preparing leaders.”

In a deeply personal remark, the monarch also applauded the Publisher’s wife, Vanessa Abai, for her visible support and humility, noting that many visions have failed due to a lack of spousal support.

“Your wife is clearly an active partner in this vision, and that is rare. I saw her concern today when I arrived and her husband was delayed. That shows genuine investment and respect.”

The monarch expressed his admiration for the brand’s origin and growth, from humble beginnings in messaging to print, and now expanding into television.

“Ten years from now, I believe we will all be watching GbaramatuVoice on satellite TV, just like Al Jazeera. And I’ll still be around to celebrate 20 years with you.”

The visit is part of a series of activities lined up to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of GbaramatuVoice, a journey that began in the creeks and has grown into a national platform championing the voices, stories, and struggles of the Niger Delta with integrity and cultural pride.
