A Niger Delta youth leader and oil and gas activist, Comrade Peter Ofoghan, popularly known as the Oracle of OML42 Field, has called on the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to immediately declare members and organisers of the Warri Indigenous People Movement (WIPM) wanted, alleging that they are Itsekiri bunkerers in disguise.
Comrade Ofoghan described the protest and petition by WIPM demanding the cancellation of the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Limited as a “baseless, witch-hunting and politically motivated move” driven by the destruction of illegal oil operations in the Warri River and Obodo axis.
“As a former executive member of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), I can confirm that WIPM is a illegal bunkering organisation whose aim is to sabotage national oil infrastructure for selfish gains,” Ofoghan said.
He expressed confidence in Tantita Security Services, noting that since its engagement, Nigeria has recorded a significant surge in crude oil production. “No organisation before Tantita was able to achieve such milestones. Our daily output now exceeds 2 million barrels per day. Export lines are safer, and oil companies are seeing results,” he stated.
According to him, the appointment of Tantita under the leadership of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) has proven to be a strategic success, earning widespread commendation from traditional rulers, oil producers, and Niger Delta youth.
“Communities that once suffered from pollution and pipeline vandalism now enjoy peace. The Trans Forcados Pipeline has seen increased production from key assets including OML 30 and OML 42. Other critical export lines under Tantita’s surveillance report zero incidents of theft or sabotage,” Ofoghan added.
He highlighted the company’s operational tactics—including physical patrols, aerial surveillance, and advanced drone technology—as major deterrents to oil theft. “These measures have made Tantita a big threat to oil thieves who now hide under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and ethnicity politics to blackmail the government,” he said.
Comrade Ofoghan also commended Tantita for its grassroots engagement, empowering over 4 million families and conducting medical outreach programs that have saved lives and supported market women across various ethnic groups in the Niger Delta.
He emphasized that no surveillance firm in the history of the region has implemented such robust social responsibility initiatives.
He warned that the actions of WIPM and its sponsors pose a threat to national security and economic stability. “I call on the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to declare the WIPM organisers wanted. If not curtailed, their activities may reignite bunkering operations and fund politically motivated agendas aimed at destabilising the APC government,” he stated.
Comrade Ofoghan concluded by reaffirming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing Tantita Security Services as “a vessel fulfilling the president’s promise to restore the dignity of the Niger Delta and secure the nation’s oil assets.”
