Edo Government Signs Strategic Education Partnership with Chinese University

The Edo State Ministry of Education has signed a strategic partnership agreement between Ambrose Alli University o(AAU), Ekpoma, and Fujian Jiangxia University, China, to promote research, innovation, and technological advancement in the state’s educational sector.

The partnership, undertaken under the leadership of His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo and supervised by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, aims to strengthen academic collaboration, engineering development, and global knowledge exchange.

According to details of the agreement, the initiative will focus on advanced research, student and faculty exchange programmes, engineering and electronics, and technological innovation, positioning Edo State as a leading hub for educational excellence in Nigeria.

Speaking after the signing ceremony in China, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu described the partnership as a direct reflection of Governor Okpebholo’s vision to transform the education sector in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the collaboration will help prepare Edo youths with the skills, exposure, and technical capacity to compete globally. “Education is the foundation of progress, and by connecting our institutions with global centres of excellence like Fujian Jiangxia University, we are preparing Edo youths for the future,” Dr. Iyamu said.

The partnership is also expected to enhance vocational education, digital economy development, cross-border e-commerce, energy transition, and talent cultivation, while fostering innovation through research and global cooperation.

With this development, Edo State continues to set the pace in educational transformation, building a system driven by research, relevance, and results under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo and the coordination of Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu.
