The National Chairman of Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, PhD, has been announced as the Chairman of the GbaramatuVoice 10th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled to hold on August 27 & 28, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Amb. Igali, a seasoned diplomat, scholar, and elder statesman, will lead distinguished personalities, policymakers, traditional rulers, cultural icons, and stakeholders from across Nigeria and the Niger Delta region in celebrating a decade of impactful journalism by GbaramatuVoice.

He is a former Ambassador to the Scandinavian countries, a former Federal Permanent Secretary, and a former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government. He also served as the Alternate Chairman of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities and as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Currently, he is the First Vice President of the Academy of International Affairs of Nigeria.
During his interaction with the management of GbaramatuVoice led by the Publisher, Jacob Abai, Amb. Igali commended the media house for its unwavering commitment to amplifying the voice of the Niger Delta in national and global discourse. He described GbaramatuVoice as “a pride to the Niger Delta and to Nigeria at large.”
The PANDEF Chairman also paid tribute to the late Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, recalling his fondness for the newspaper: “One person who would have been very proud of you today is Chief Edwin Clark, because he always held GbaramatuVoice close to his heart. Every time he heard or saw any news, he would say, ‘Google GbaramatuVoice, and tell me what they said.’”
The forthcoming celebration promises to be a landmark event, featuring high-level discussions, cultural showcases, awards, and special recognitions, as GbaramatuVoice reflects on its journey from inception to becoming a formidable voice for the Niger Delta.

With Amb. Igali chairing the occasion, expectations are high for a historic gathering that will not only celebrate journalism but also spotlight the struggles, resilience, and aspirations of the Niger Delta people.
