In a decisive operation under Operation DELTA SANITY, the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DELTA has uncovered and destroyed multiple illegal crude oil storage pits in Obodo Omadino Community, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The raid, executed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, marks another major blow to the well-organized criminal cartels behind Nigeria’s multibillion-naira oil theft industry. The dug-out pits, laden with an unspecified but significant quantity of stolen crude oil, were discovered in a covert location within the creeks.

This operation follows a series of successful crackdowns in the same community between June 1 and 5, 2025, during which the Navy dismantled 28 illegal crude oil pits and seized numerous sacks of stolen oil. Tuesday’s raid further reinforces the Navy’s strong warning: there will be no hiding place for oil thieves.
