Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly seat in Warri South West Constituency for the 2019 polls, Mr. Emomotimi Guwor, has called for unity amongst the people of the locality – Ijaws and Itsekiris – so as to achieve progress.
He made the call on the occasion of a thanksgiving service he held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bright Hope in Warri on Sunday.
While rendering thanks to God during the service, Guwor called on both the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri South West to come together, to work in one spirit, and to ask in one voice what is due them from those in authority, saying, “divided we will fall and united we will stand.”
Continuing, he said, “We need to come together in unity so we can make progress and continue to develop our very impoverished environment; to continue to change the living standard of our people in Gbaramatu, Ogbe-Ijoh, Diebiri, Isaba, Ugborodo, and all over Warri South West; that is my expectation for them.”
He further admonished the people of the locality to come out enmasse during the poll in March 2019, to vote him to represent them in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The church was enveloped in an atmosphere of praise and rejoicing as Guwor, alongside his wife, family and well-wishers, took to the floor dancing, to give thanks to God for what He has done.
Speaking to GbaramatuVoice after the thanksgiving service, Guwor said he needed to appreciate God for the grace he received that made him the flag bearer of his constituency.
“I actually came to thank God for the success in the just concluded PDP House of Assembly primaries. I didn’t do this by my powers but it was by the grace of God that I was able to do this. It was by divine intervention that I was able to come out successful. It is God’s grace and favor, so, there is a need for me to come to the house of God to thank Him for that which only Him can do.
“God has done wonderfully well in my life by making me to come out as the candidate of PDP in the 2019 general election where I will be flying the flag of the PDP to represent Warri South West in Delta State House of Assembly,” he added.
