‘200,000 barrels of crude oil pumped into pipelines, 3,000 barrels received at the Bonny terminal’
Activist and Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Adeyanju Deji, has cried out to the Federal Government of Nigeria over illegal bunkering of nation’s crude oil going on in the Niger Delta.
Adeyanju voiced out in a Facebook post on Saturday as he lamented over the stealing of the nation’s most valuable resource.
According to him, it has been up to six weeks now that Shell has shut down operations and its facilities from Bayelsa and Rivers State but illegal bunkering of crude oil still continues in the Niger Delta region.

He claimed that over 200,000 barrels of crude oil are being pumped (daily) but only a small volume of 3,000 barrels are being received at Bonny terminal.
He alleged that the remaining “177,000” barrels of the crude oil never reach the Bonny terminal but are being stolen by saboteurs.
He finally called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly wieghing by sacking security agents who had compromised the system as he believed that the illegal bunkering wouldn’t have seen the light of the day if the nation’s security architecture had not given in.
“Shell has shut down all land facilities in the Eastern Niger Delta (Bayelsa & Rivers) for about 6 weeks. And there is no plan to restart They are pumping over 200,000 barrels of crude into the pipelines and receiving only 3,000 barrels at Bonny terminal. The rest are stolen along the way, illegal bunkering. Shell is just marking time, waiting to dispose all their onshore assets,” Adeyanju claimed as he called on President Buhari to swing into action.
