…as Governor Okowa, congratulates Uvwie monarch
As part of his resolve to build peace across the length and breadth of the Niger Delta, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II (Aketekpe, Agadagba) will on Saturday February 24, 2018, visit Uvwie Kingdom in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, ahead of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom’s 10th year coronation anniversary.
Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, also sent a congratulatory message to the Ovie on the occasion of his coronation anniversary.
A release by the Benemowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, who doubles as the Spokesperson of the Gbaramatu Traditional Council, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, stated that the visit of the Pere, who is committed to peace building among all the Niger Delta people, is to foster peaceful coexistence between the Ijaw nation and neighbouring communities in the state.
The release further stated that the visit will be the sixth Niger Delta Kingdom to be visited by the Pere outside his kingdom since assumption of office in 2016, in his quest for the enthronement of peace in the region.
”His Royal Highness, the Pere of Gbaramatu, shall be visiting the Uvwie Kingdom on Saturday, in continuation of his resolve to preach and ensure peace among all the kingdoms in the region.
“He will also use the visit as solidarity with the Ovie and the people of Uvwie Kingdom, on the 10th Anniversary of his coronation” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Friday congratulated, HRM Emmanuel Sideso (JP), OON, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the ancient throne.
Okowa in a statement issued on Friday in Asaba and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, commended the monarch for making Uvwie kingdom peaceful and investor-friendly since he ascended the throne of his forefathers, ten years ago.
The Governor noted that His Majesty’s ascension to the throne has brought lasting peace to the once troubled Uvwie kingdom.
“Uvwie Kingdom has metamorphosed from a once troubled kingdom to a peaceful and investor-friendly kingdom since His Royal Majesty ascended the throne ten years ago. His Majesty has worked so hard with his Council of Chiefs and the youths to maintain peace in the kingdom and I have no doubt that the Uvwie of today is positioned to be the commercial nerve centre of Delta State.”
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate with HRM Emmanuel Sideso (JP), OON, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on his 10th coronation anniversary.”
The governor joins the people of Uvwie Kingdom in celebrating His Royal Majesty in good health, wisdom and strength to continue his reign in Uvwie Kingdom.
Continuing, the statement noted; “As a bastion of culture and tradition, Umogu, has played significant role in the promotion of harmony among Uvwie people and their neighbours.
The governor thanked the people of Uvwie for reposing confidence on the monarch as well as giving him the needed support and cooperation in the past ten years on the throne.
“We pray that the Almighty God will continue to give you good health and wisdom to pilot the traditional affairs of your kingdom and offer valuable contributions to the development of our dear Delta State,” the Governor said.
