WARRI -The oil city of Warri was agog on Saturday penultimate week as Pastor Simon Andafa from Ojobo town in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State gave out his daughter Barr. Bestie Tamara Andafa to Flight Lieutenant Akpoebi Samuelson Atti, son of Air Vice Marshal A. S. Atti (rtd) from Ekeremor town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

However, the ground breaking christian marriage took place at the Shammah Divine Zion Ministry, Okumagba, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State as the duo of Flight Lieutenant Akpoebi Samuelson Atti and Barr. Bestie Tamara Andafa tied the nuptial knot.

Gbaramatu Voice noted that a high powered reception was organised at the “Mom Event Centre” along airport road, Warri.

High point of the marriage ceremony was the presentation of sword to the groom, Flight Lieutenant Akpoebi Samuelson Atti by officers of the Nigerian Airforce, according to them, the sword symbolizes one of the most valuable weapons to the military, hence its presentation is so significant in a military marriage of such, stressing that the sword was for the protection of his wife against any external forces.

The marriage was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, prominent among them are Air Commodore S. A. Zakari, Commander 61 NAF Detachment, Warri; Air Commodore and Mrs. P. C. Ugwueke; Barr. Sam Hart, SSA to the Abia State Government on Public Media Communications; Mr. Chime Asonye, SA to Abia State Government on Sustainable Development Goals; Engr. Izuchukwu Onwughara, Project Coordinator, Abia State Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) with the host of others.
