One of the Councillorship aspirants under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Okerenkoko Ward, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Dennis Bolei, has stepped down for Comr. James Dekawei, ahead of the primary election.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Warri yesterday.

In his words, “I, Mr Dennis Bolei, with pride and love for the Okerenkoko Ward 19 in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria, step down as an aspirant in the forthcoming Councillorship election.

“My reason is that there is another aspirant who is vying for same position that has remarkably shown to possess in deeds and characters, the requisite qualities of tolerance, understanding, altruism and statesmanship; and who is most qualified for the Councillorship position.”

He also posited that “Democracy is a collective effort and targeted for the good of the people” and on this note “I endorse Mr. James Dekawei for the office of Councillor.”

While encouraging the people to support Mr. Dekawei, he also reiterated his activeness to join hands with others to deliver the right councillorship candidate.

According to him, “I strongly encourage the Okerenkoko people and other aspirants to support Mr. James Dekawei because he symbolizes the will of the people and a true statesman.

“It should be on record that I have stepped down doesn’t mean I am not active in the political participation of ensuring that the man who carries the will of the people is rightly installed.”- Bolei stated.

It would be recalled that the Delta State Local Government elections to fill vacant chairmanship and councillorship positions across the state is billed to take place January 6, 2018.
