More Bayelsa Commissioners Present Score Cards At Inter-Ministerial Briefings

Three more Commissioners of the Seriake Dickson administration, presented their performance on Wednesday, as the state’s ongoing Inter-Ministerial briefing, enter Day 8.

The Commissioner for Ijaw National Affairs, Mr. Austin Dressy Dressman, who was first to mount the podium, told the gathering that his ministry has been in the apex of promoting the Ijaw culture and the protection and preservation of the cultural heritage of the 6 existing Ijaw states of Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers, which he said have been in a peaceful co-existence up till the moment.

Dressman took cognizance of the fact that the Bayelsa State Ministry of Ijaw National Affairs have an office hosting all the 6 Ijaw states of the federation and hosts the annual Ijaw Day presentation.

His counterpart in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chief Blessing Ebigansy Izagara submitted that, his ministry is set to combat crimes in the state with the use of drones that will technologically capture and transmit the images of people at all points, at all times, to aid in crime detection with pin-point accuracy.

Chief Izagara said, Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre have been put in place to train Bayelsa state youths who will be able to
 effectively employ the use of these facilities to fight and curb crimes in line with global technological trend.

The commissioners of Tourism Development, Mrs. Ebiere Irine Musa and that of Women Affairs, Mrs. Martha Janakumo highlighted their achievements as the approval of water park at Ox-bow lake, to be completed within 60 days, 38 seaters Roller Wheel and Bayelsa state Film Village to kick-off by the end of 2018.

The Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Information, Mr. Seiyefa Uzaka in a good will message, expressed satisfaction on the performance of the restoration government.

He asked rhetorically; “if I tell the truth, I will die, if I lie, I will die so, why would I not tell the truth and die”.
