COVID-19: Olu of Warri donates cow, food items to DBS’s staff

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, has put smile on the faces of media workers in the Delta State government owned broadcast outfit known as Delta Broadcasting Services, DBS, Warri

It was gathered that, the Olu of Warri on Monday sent a team from his palace to deliver to the management of the station one live cow, 50 bags of 10kg of rice, two big bags of beans, 50 litres of Vegetable Oil, 50 litres of Palm Oil and 30 tubers of yam.

The message from the monarch it was learnt clearly stated that the food items should be shared among staff of the station that have been working on essential duties during the period of the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

The monarch’s gesture came at a time that there were growing concerns among journalists in Delta State regarding the alleged neglect by the government and other stakeholders despite their roles and sacrifices in reporting the coronavirus pandemic particularly in the state.

This is against the backdrop of some journalists allegedly been intimidated, harassed and manhandled by security agents and even government officials while on COVID-19 assignments in the state.
